Mr. Branch - Band Teacher/Director

Mr. Matthew Viggiano ~ Computer Technology/STEM

Mr. Matthew Viggiano began teaching 6th grade science at MTMS in 2014. After graduating high school and receiving the STARS Scholarship, Matthew first attended County College of Morris and then Montclair State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his teaching certification and B.S. in Biological Science. He was also nominated for the New Jersey Distinguished Student Teacher Award, and is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Matthew's favorite aspect of teaching is being able to encourage, inspire, and be a shining light for his students each day.

Ms. Hare - Art Teacher

Francesca Hare began her teaching career at Williams College in 1998, then moved to a charter high school in Hoboken before finally arriving at MTMS in 2005. Ms. Hare loves sharing her enthusiasm for art with students and in particular enjoys taking her painting class to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to sketch from master works of art. Ms. Hare has undergraduate and graduate degrees in fine art. When not in the classroom Ms. Hare can be found riding horses, her second passion.

Mr. Mahadeen - Band Teacher/Director

Michael Mahadeen, a conductor, educator, composer, and multiple woodwind instrumentalist, is the Assistant Director of the Symphony of Winds and Percussion at New Jersey City University, has served on the faculty at Montclair State University, and can regularly be found on the music team of various professional, community, and educational theater organizations. Michael graduated with honors from the John J. Cali School of Music, Montclair State University, where he double majored in Music Education/Music Theory and Composition. He was a recipient of the 2010 New Jersey Distinguished Student Teacher Award and the Montclair State University Excellence in Orchestra Award. Michael is very excited to teach at Mendham Township Middle School where he shares his experiences as an active professional in American popular music and jazz with our music students , broadening their perspectives and appreciation of the art form.

Ms. Catherine Moore- Music / Chorus Teacher

Ms. Moore grew up in Westfield, NJ, and recently graduated from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater & Dance, where  she majored in Choral Music Education and studied piano and voice performance. Singing in choir is an amazing opportunity to learn, grow, and build community through music, and Ms. Moore is excited to share the experiences she has had as a performer and educator. When she's not teaching or performing, you can find Ms. Moore cheering on the Michigan Wolverines Football and Basketball teams (Go Blue!), traveling, and going to live music concerts of all genres.  

Mr. Naughright - Orchestra Teacher

Ms. Sodora - Physical Education / Health

Ms. Sodora joined Mendham Township teaching staff in 2017. She earned a BS from Quinnipiac University in Health Science Studies, a BS from William Paterson University in Physical Education and is pursuing her MS degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. Prior to Mendham Township, Ms. Sodora has teaching experience from Mendham Boro and also spent over 12 years working as a camp counselor and eventually became the activities coordinator at her summer camp. Ms. Sodora also coaches the JV field hockey team and the softball team at Mendham Township.
