Dear Mendham Township Middle School Families,

On behalf of the Mendham Township Board of Education, administration, faculty, secretaries, and custodians, I am honored to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year at Mendham Township Middle School. Whether you are new to our building, our district, or are returning for another year, please be assured that we are all dedicated to providing an educational experience of the highest quality for each and every student that walks through our doors! We are committed to Excellence and Equity in all that we do! Throughout the 2024-25 school year, we will continue to hold the highest academic and behavioral expectations for all school community stakeholders. We shall hold ourselves, our school community, and our students accountable for cultivating an environment conducive to raising productive, well-rounded, and self-reliant young adults.

Although formal parent / teacher conferences are again scheduled for November and March, please note that our grade level teams meet every day and are readily available to you as follows: 5th grade at 12:40 PM; 6thgrade at 10:29 AM; 7th grade at 9:46 AM; and 8th grade at 8:20 AM. As a result, parents are highly encouraged to contact teachers via email and or telephone in order to secure conferences at anytime throughout the school year. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you would like to meet with a grade level team, contact your child’s homeroom teacher, who will arrange the meeting.

As we continue our journey toward creating a seamlessly transparent learning environment including consistent home and school communication, this year all parents will again have access to online / on demand grade and discipline reports through the Oncourse Parent Portal. Usernames and passwords remain the same each year. This online portal will provide parents with on-demand, 24/7, access to your child's most recent Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Language, and Language Arts grades. In 2024-25 we continue with a paperless system, so official grade reports will no longer be sent home four times per year at the conclusion of each marking period. Instead parents should check their OnCourse Parent Portal regularly. The only grade communication via USPS will be Progress Reports, which will be sent for any student who earns less than a C+ (79.5%) in any subject at the mid point of each marking period.

Please remember to check our school’s web page everyday – the Daily Announcements section details each week’s special events. In addition, links to the nightly homework posting and the Oncourse Parent Portal can be found on the webpage as well.

I am here to serve our school community and the best interests of our kids and therefore, if you have any questions, comments, and or concerns, always please feel free to call or e-mail me at your convenience. I am truly looking forward to the 2024-25 school year! Good Luck!

Very truly yours,

PJC
