Threat Assessment
REPORT A THREAT
In 2022, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law the requirement for schools to establish a multi-disciplinary threat assessment team in each school, starting in the 2023-24 school year. The purpose of a threat assessment team is to provide teachers, administrators, and other staff with assistance in identifying students with behaviors of concern, assessing those students’ risk for engaging in violence or other harmful activities, and delivering intervention strategies to manage the risk of harm for students who pose a potential safety risk.
In an effort to ensure an accessible way for individuals to report a concern, we established a reporting system here on our District website. The process is designed for assessment of threats to harm others and is NOT intended for HIB - Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying reporting.
