MTSD ORCHESTRA PROGRAM

Mendham Township is pleased to offer orchestra to students from grades 4-8. At the Elementary School, the 4th grade OVERTURE ORCHESTRA focuses on technique and basic note reading, while performing challenging and fun selections several times per year. There is one pull-out rotating lesson  and one early morning rehearsal per week. 

While many of our students are actively involved in sports, scouts, and have rigorous academic expectations, we work toward and see excellence in their performance. Our award winning Symphonic Orchestra has earned Superior ratings at festivals.

I am a dedicated and accomplished music educator with a Bachelor of Music Education, specializing in Strings from Ithaca College. Teaching at Montville Public Schools as an Elementary Strings Teacher and Substitute at Washington Township Schools and West Morris Regional High School District, I am greatly ecstatic to be here at Mendham Township School District. With an extensive background in broadway and opera, I have music directed productions such as "The Last Five Years," and contributed to the pit orchestra for "First Date" at Ithaca College's IC Second Stage. My talents extend to performing in the pit for notable productions like "Dido and Aeneas," "Porgy and Bess," and a captivating new opera, "We Wear the Sea Like a Coat."

Stepping into the Mendham Township School District as the Elementary and Middle School Strings/Orchestra Director, I am on a mission to cultivate a deep appreciation for music within students. My passion for fostering musical talent and instilling a lifelong love for the art form drives my commitment to student success. With a wealth of experience and a heart full of dedication, I endeavors to make a substantial and positive impact as a music educator, guiding the next generation of musicians towards excellence. Outside of school, I teach private lessons in my studio, I enjoy relaxing around my patio and on my porch, going bowling, and assisting DJ's at weddings and Sweet Sixteens.
