Hola Tiger Families! My name is Cecilia Maggiore, and I will be your child's Spanish teacher this year. I am a native Spanish speaker and I have been a Spanish teacher since 2010. I have taught 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade levels over the years to students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles.
I am a K-12 certified Spanish Teacher and graduated from Kean University in New Jersey. I also have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from my country Peru.
I have one wonderful bilingual 10 year old child who is very active and loves to play with his cousins. My husband is a high school Spanish and Music teacher. We love to read books, listen to music, play outside, travel, and spend time with our families. I have also traveled extensively throughout South America and Europe. Having a vast cultural awareness and sincere interest in engaging students in conversations about their culture and traditions allows me to bring an important element of historic and cultural enrichment into the classroom.
I am so thrilled to be a part of Mendham Township Elementary School. I am looking forward to introducing students to world language this year so that they can feel confident when continuing their learning experiences in MTES.
