I earned my Bachelors in Music Education from Montclair State University in 2012, and I earned my Masters in Music Education through Boston University in 2018. I live in Middlesex with my husband, step daughter, and infant son.

I am directing the Tiger Singers this year. For more information about what I do in the classroom and in Tiger Singers, please click on the sections below.

What should I expect from General Music?

Welcome to Music!

In my classroom, children of all ages explore themselves as musicians. We learn the basics of musical literacy through performance, movement, listening, and reading. This program encourages each child to bring their own kind of music into the classroom. We analyze and perform music from different countries and many different genres.

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to perform what they have learned for the Mendham Township Community.

During December, we perform a Holiday Sing-A-Long, an exercise in community singing where parents and children are encouraged to sing together. This year, we will also have a 3rd grade Elfis and the Elves get "All Shook Up" musical performance.

In March, Pre-K through 2nd grade will perform a Spring Concert, providing a kaleidoscope of what we have learned over the year.

In April, the 4th grade with put on a special musical revue, Broadway Beats.

In my classroom, children of all ages explore musical concepts with instruments and voice. We work hard to create a comfortable and supportive environment where each child’s talent is encouraged is cultivated.

"If you cannot teach me to fly, teach me to sing." - Sir James Barrie

Tiger Singers

Welcome to Tiger Singers!

The Tiger Singers are dedicated 3rd and 4th grade musicians. We meet twice a week before school on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00am - 8:45am. We learn how to sight sing music, and explore the joy of choral singing.

The Tiger Singers perform twice per year, once in January and once in May. We also do outreach performances twice per year. Once during the Holiday Season at Holly Manor, and once during the Mall Project. Dates and information about these performances will be sent home as they arise.

I am really looking forward to challenging our Tiger Singers with some exciting music this year!

How can I sign up? Ms. Allen will hand out informational packets to interested students during the first few weeks of school.

Rehearsals for the January Concert will begin September 18th!
