About the Teacher

Welcome to first grade! My name is Brianna Boland and I am excited for a fun-filled year ahead! This is my second year at Mendham Township Elementary School, but I have been teaching since 2010. I previously taught Kindergarten, Pre K, and first grade. Each year I meet such kind, energetic, creative, and lovable children. I enjoy watching them grow and learn throughout the year. It is amazing to see their transformation from September to June!

I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. I couldn’t WAIT to start teaching the following September and jumped right in! Four years later, I decided it was time to begin my Master’s degree in Reading at Montclair State University. I will graduate this winter. I enjoy staying current in reading education and learning best practices and strategies to use with my students. I believe that it is important for teachers to keep learning! When I am not teaching or planning for our awesome first grade class, I enjoy reading, baking, concerts, traveling, relaxing on the beach, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends. We are going to have a wonderful year in first grade!

About the Teacher

Hello and Welcome to

Mrs. Reed's 1st Grade Class Page...

Home of the Fantastic Frogs!!!

My Professional Background and Philosophy:

I hold a New Jersey Elementary School Teaching Certificate and BA in Psychology from The College of New Jersey. I've also earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Math. I have been teaching since 2000, and have taught in the Mendham Township School District since the Fall of 2002. Since joining the MTES community, I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grades. I especially love teaching first grade because the students are genuinely excited to come to class each day and are highly motivated to learn. My goal, as your child's educator, is for us to have so much fun in class each day that learning never really feels like work!

On a More Personal Note:

I have three amazing children, all of whom are students here at MTES. My husband and I believe so strongly in the Mendham Township School District that we made the decision to move our family here, so that our three kids could reap the benefits of all that the MTSD has to offer. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made, as our children are growing and flourishing under the guidance of MTSD's remarkable staff each and every day.

When I am not at school, I am guaranteed to be spending time with my family. We love to play games, attend sporting events, read, dance, take walks, and get together with friends. Our summers, weekends, and days off from school are always action-packed!

Each September, I look forward to meeting a new class of eager learners. I hope to someday meet and work with your child in the Fantastic Frog Class.

Thanks for stopping by!
