Greetings, MTES families! My name is Theresa McNamara. This is my 19th year teaching, and sixteen of those years have been right here at MTES! I graduated from Rutgers University with a Masters degree in Elementary Education. Since graduating I have always taught students in 4th and 5th grades, but this year I am excited to be taking on a new challenge and working with many more MTES students in both the areas of GT and math!
I live in Montville, NJ with my husband and two sons. They are in the 3rd and 4th grades this year and they keep us quite busy with their activities! We also have a 14 year old dog, Lakota, who likes to howl when the fire sirens go off.
I enjoy teaching all subjects, but I particularly love history and I hope to instill that in my students. I think it is so wonderful that we live in an area that is rich with historical significance and I enjoy traveling to museums, monuments, battlefields, etc. to learn more about the past. I bring my new knowledge back to the classroom to share with my students and encourage them to visit historical places with their families as well!
I am also obsessed with all things Harry Potter and my classroom is designed to reflect this!
I am looking forward to an exciting year filled with amazing experiences and opportunities.
