Pre-School (3 & 4 yr. olds)

Mendham Township Elementary School provides a comprehensive early childhood education program, in partnership with families, to help children prepare for a successful school career. Early childhood education improves the emotional, social and physical development of young children. Our high quality, developmentally appropriate programs positively affect children’s cognitive abilities and social development.

The early childhood program offers a Pre-Kindergarten Program for three and four-year-old children. This is a traditional, tuition-based full-day preschool program, designed to prepare students for success in their school career. Children will also learn and grow in the areas of self-esteem and respect for others.

Mendham Township preschool programs provide a safe, happy learning environment, staffed by qualified professionals. Teaching staff strive to meet individual learning needs and styles with an integrated curriculum. Children have many opportunities to learn new skills, explore new information, and build a positive self-image. Pre-K learners participate in imaginative play, improve motor skills, develop relationships, and prepare for kindergarten and beyond.

Our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is focused on the constructivist approach, which provides diverse learning environments where activities are driven by the students, and teachers encourage and support children to play and explore as a path to learning.

Our pre-K curriculum focuses on all areas that are important for school success:

  • Social-emotional
  • Cognitive
  • Math
  • Literacy
  • Physical
  • Language
  • Social Studies
  • Science and Technology
  • The Arts

    About the Teacher

Welcome to the Smiley Face Pre-School Class!

I am so happy to be able to be a part of your child's growth and development. It is here where we make friends, learn, and play!

I began my teaching career in the year 2000! I was a kindergarten teacher in West New York for 3 years. After moving to Morris County in 2003, I was so lucky to be able to become a part of the Mendham Township School District. I taught 1st grade up until September 2012 when the new Full Day Pre-school Program was offered and I was asked to teach it. I was thrilled about this because teaching very young children is my passion.

I hold 2 teaching degrees in the area of Early Childhood Education. My first is a Bachelor's Degree in Human Ecology with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. My second is a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I learned so much throughout my own education and it is my goal to spread the "love of learning" onto young children.

    About the Teacher

Welcome to the Little Explorer Class!

Let’s get ready to learn! My name is Ann Quidore and I have been a preschool teacher at MTES since 2004. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of California at Riverside and my regular education and special education certifications from Kean University in New Jersey. I have taught in California and Texas, but now live in Chatham with my husband, Chris, and my daughter, Veronica. On weekends, I enjoy watching Veronica play ice hockey, visiting with family and friends, and relaxing with a good book. My other interests include: college basketball (Go Pirates!), traveling (San Diego, CA is next on the list.), baking and playing all types of games (golf, board games, word games, etc.). I often share these pieces of my life with our students as a way to learn more about their own interests and help them communicate what they know about their world. As they learn about the similarities and differences about each other, they begin to appreciate their own skills and look for occasions to show each other what they know. By providing engaging activities that ignite their curiosity and challenge their reasoning skills, we facilitate the integration of concepts and present opportunities for them to strengthen these tools of communication. As we help our preschoolers gain these fundamental skills necessary for kindergarten we look to instill a love of learning and the thrill of discovery.
