I am very excited to begin my 12th year teaching at Mendham Township Elementary. The students' bright faces inspire me to design art activities that will engage their aesthetic inteligence. I also hope to show them how to appreciate the amazing art of cultures around the world. We always ask "Why does the artwork look the way it does?" The answers usually are found in an understanding of the person or group of people who make it.
I began my Art Education Education at The College of St. Rose in Albany, NY where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Art Education. In 2004 I took over as Art Teacher at MTES when Sue Zeleznik, the Art Teacher of 30 years, retired.
In 2013 I conlcuded my Master Degree in Educational Leadership with The College of New Jersey. I focused in universal classroom design and implementation.
I live in High Bridge New Jersey with my Husband and Son. We love to travel to the shore and to the mountains of New York. But, our favorite thing to do is spend time with our family and friends.
It is my personal goal to be a creativity coach for my students. Their ideas are the true currency in the Art room. My classroom door is always open to any student or parent who wishes to create.
