- The Board of Education usually meets on the first and the third Tuesday of each month. The second meeting of the month is a Regular Meeting. At that time action is taken on any number of issues.
- Work Session / Agenda Session
- The first meeting of each month is considered a work or agenda session. The Board will rarely take action at that meeting.
- Special Meeting
- Occasionally a Special Meeting of the Board of Education will be called to discuss and/or take action on an item or items. All legal procedures are followed in calling for a Special Meeting.
- Closed or Executive Session
- In certain instances, the law permits meetings, which are closed to the public: Minutes of these proceedings are kept and are made available to the public at such time as the matter is closed. If the Board adjourns to closed session, the Board may move to another location.
- Agenda
- An outline of the items to be discussed or acted upon at a meeting.
- Consent Agenda Items
- The consent agenda items are considered routine, or are in accordance with Board policy or contractual commitments. In the interest of time, these items are voted upon in one encompassing motion. Any member of the Board may request that an item, or part thereof, be removed from the consent Agenda and discussed separately. Upon approval all Consent Agenda items are considered approved by a roll call vote unless the vote is different and so noted. The items listed in the Consent Agenda are available for inspection at the time of the meeting.
